I was told of a Pileated Woodpecker Nest and that it was close to the roadside and an easy shoot, so I took the 2hour dive down to Flamingo 3 days straight to photograph this very active woodpecker nest ! The chicks actually fledged mere days after I had photographed the site.
In this image the Male Pileated Woodpecker is seen flying away from the nest after feeding his young.
